Crispy Scroll

Crispy Scroll is a monster found in the Dark Ruins as a random encounter. His encounter is also scripted to appear in the area after the Decibat battle. He is the first enemy from Undertale Yellow to be revealed.[1]

Profile[edit | edit source]

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Crispy Scroll's appearance is, as his name suggests, a large floating scroll with annoyed-looking eyes and ribbons as arms.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Crispy Scroll loves fan stuff, including headcanons, roleplaying, anime, and manga. He is very enthusiastic about what he enjoys and likes sharing that excitement with others. His battle dialogue and flavor text mostly reference various anime tropes.

Main Story[edit | edit source]

Crispy Scroll's scripted encounter is right after the fight with Decibat, in the room with the second glowing box puzzle.

Pacifist Route[edit | edit source]

After sparing Dalv, he can be found at the same place as his scripted encounter, where he states he intends to visit the garbage dump and recommends anime to Clover.

After getting the ability to Fast Travel, Crispy Scroll can be found at the docks near Martlet's house in Snowdin, lamenting how he could not find any anime at the garbage dump, and how in Snowdin, unlike Ruins, he can't freely express himself due to monsters waiting to judge him.

In the True Pacifist ending credits, he can be seen in the crowd watching Dalv's organ concert at the Honeydew Resort.

In Battle[edit | edit source]

Attacks[edit | edit source]

  • Laser: Circles appear outside the box on the right, then shoot horizontal laser beams.
  • Slash: Lines show up in the direction the SOUL is moving, then transform into slashes. This repeats four times, then ends with two crossed slashes.
  • Tub: Tub-shaped objects drop from the top of the box, bouncing off the bottom once.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Crispy Scroll can be spared by:

  • Using the Transform ACT three times, where he rolls out of battle after the third use.
  • Using the Yell ACT twice, where the second yelling makes him spareable.
