The GAME CONFIG is a menu accessible from the main menu. It allows the player to configure Undertale Yellow's options such as controls and accessibility features. The music that plays in this menu is Making Adjustments.

Joystick Config[edit | edit source]

In this menu, the player can remap 3 buttons on the gamepad to "Confirm", "Cancel" and "Menu". Additionally, the controller's deadzone can be adjusted within the range of 1% to 99%.

CONTROL TEST[edit | edit source]

Pressing this option warps the player to the control test, which is really similiar to the one from Undertale. However, here, the player has control over the Annoying Dog, rather than one of Migosp's attacks, and the Bullet Board lacks trees or houses.

ACCESSIBILITY[edit | edit source]

This part of the menu allows the player to toggle quality-of-life features on or off:

  • Shake on hurt - enables the shaking effect when Clover gets hit in battles.
  • Always allow retry - allows the player to use the retry function upon death to normal enemies, rather than only bosses.
  • AUTO-SPRINT - allows Clover to run without holding X or Shift.
  • AUTO-FIRE toggle (C) - allows for auto-fire in battles where the SOUL can shoot, disabled or enabled mid-battle by pressing the C key.

In the 1.1 version, two new accessibility options were added:[1]

  • AUTO-RHYTHM - makes the player hit the rhythm notes automatically during El Bailador's battle so long as they are in the correct lane.
  • EASY MODE - gives Clover 3 extra Defense points.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Nice Hat was probably meant to give 5 extra Defense points in EASY MODE according to the code which determines armor defense,[2] but since the armor defense is never recalculated after obtaining it or loading a save it gives the same amount of Defense as the default armor, Worn Hat.
  • The Annoying Dog doesn't animate when a button press is detected, even though it has a custom walking sprite in Undertale and the Migosp's attack which the player controls in Undertale's CONTROL TEST does animate.
  • Enabling auto sprint changes dialogue of the first room in the dark ruins to: Caution....X......Walk....
