Main Story[edit | edit source]

Neutral Route[edit | edit source]

Clover enters the town after meeting up with Martlet, who has decided to accompany them. They can interact with the NPCs and environment, many of which prompt reactions from Martlet.

They can return after leaving the Wild East and see Violetta tending to the sprout in the plant shelter, which has grown and has blue buds. After completing the Steamworks, Violetta has left and the sprout is blooming.

Pacifist Route[edit | edit source]

Clover and Martlet return here after Ceroba Ketsukane runs to New Home. Martlet prevents them from going off-track from their destination, the Ketsukane Estate. The previously locked gate is now open, allowing them to explore the house. This eventually leads them to the secret basement, where they watch Chujin's tapes. Martlet splits off Clover after this, allowing them to prepare before meeting back up with her in Hotland.

In the credits sequence, Violetta is shown tending to the sapling with the Rock Man.

Genocide Route[edit | edit source]

On a Genocide Route, the town is abandoned. Clover can choose to go to Café Dune to steal items, while they cannot take anything from there on the other routes. The sapling is shriveled and dead on this route.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Outdoors[edit | edit source]

Palm trees and small patches of grass are spread around town. Most of the town is bordered by wooden fences, though the south edge has large stone bricks blocking the way.

The whole town is at two different elevations. Clover enters from the the northeast, which is in the higher section. The pond the town gets its name from is in the center of the higher half. A welcome sign claims this to be the largest body of water in the Dunes. Directly south of the entrance is an enclosure of Dunes-themed Frostermits.

Clover must take a short flight of stairs to reach the bottom half. A cactus monster has a small booth offering free hugs near the stairs, and a spider is selling Spider Donuts next to them. To the south of this booth is a game of hopscotch, and to the east is the exit to the Wild East.

Ketsukane Estate[edit | edit source]

The Ketsukane Estate is a mansion located to the north of the Oasis Valley. It is where Ceroba, Chujin, and Kanako Ketsukane used to live. This only becomes accessible after sparing Axis on the Pacifist Route, after which major plot points occur here.

A stone brick path leads to the entrance. Small patches of grass grow outside, and disturbed dirt and a number of dead trees are in the front yard. The fence is made of connected stone lanterns; it borders paths to the east and west of the mansion. The eastern path leads to Chujin's grave and the western path is blocked off by a pile of sand.

The entire mansion is intricately decorated. Inside, there are potted plants, paper murals, and Ketsukane crests all around. Chujin's office and Kanako's room can be explored to learn some information about their lives. Underneath the kotatsu in the center of the mansion is a trapdoor leading to Chujin's secret study.

Fortune teller[edit | edit source]

The Fortune Teller lives in a vase-shaped house near the entrance to the Ketsukane Estate. Clover can talk with her to buy a tiny fortune.

Café Dune[edit | edit source]

The outside of Café Dune.

Café Dune is found in the northeast of Oasis Valley. The shop inside is inaccessible, as the shopkeeper is on strike. Aside from that, Clover can play Mew Mew Love Blaster! on one of the arcade machines. Another one of the arcade machines is the location of a Fun Event; an NPC called Mr. Sir can appear next to a machine and dissuade Clover from talking to him.

During the Genocide Route, the inside of a building gets replaced by a now empty shop screen. Clover can steal from this, as with any other shop; however, this prevents them from interacting with anything inside the building.

Plant shelter[edit | edit source]

A small dome-shaped building in the southwest contains nothing but a single plant. The Rock Man claims to have planted it and watches over it with the rest of the town. As Clover progresses through the game, the plant grows bigger, except on a Genocide Route, where it is dead by the time they enter.

Houses[edit | edit source]

The house closest to the entrance is made of brick and decorated with gemstones outside. Its resident, the Rock Man, is growing a small patch of grass indoors. The house has stairs to the roof, where Clover can choose to steal 30G from a pair of pants hanging outside.

There is another brick house close to the exit. It is locked, but Clover (and Martlet, if she is accompanying) can talk to Red standing outside. There is a UGPS station right next to this building.
