Café Dune

Café Dune is a building located in the Oasis Valley. Although it appears to be a shop, the shop is unusable in the Pacifist Route and Neutral Route because the shopkeeper is on strike.

Interior[edit | edit source]

The entrance to the café has several tables and chairs. The back of the café has a checkout area, though nothing can be bought. Next to the counter is a corkboard containing a drawing of three monsters.[1]

The back corner has a sign labeled "The Game Zone" along with an air hockey table and three arcade machines. The air hockey table is being used by Sandra, the first arcade machine is being used by the Gamer Kid, the second arcade machine is out of order, and the third arcade machine allows you to play Mew Mew Love Blaster!.

There are several NPCs in the building. One NPC, Mr. Sir, is only seen during a Fun Event, where he stands next to the broken arcade machine and awkwardly dissuades you from talking to him.

Genocide Route[edit | edit source]

The interior of the building has been replaced by a shop menu displaying the checkout counter with nobody behind it. This menu prevents you from interacting with anything else in the shop.

Using Take can let you steal one each of the items there: Icewater, Oasis Latte, Cinnamon Cookie, and Floral Cupcake. Using Steal gives you 80g.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

rm_dunes_35, an unused room that was the original location of Café Dune sometime in development.
  • As revealed during while talking to her using the menu, Ceroba Ketsukane used to work at Café Dune.[2]
    • Because of this, the family drawing on the corkboard may have been drawn by Kanako Ketsukane.
  • Two unused rooms left in the game's code, rm_dunes_35 (Café dune exterior) and rm_dunes_30_old (old version of Oasis Valley without Café Dune), seem to indicate that Café Dune was originally going to be placed in its own room closer to the Wild East rather than inside of Oasis Valley. This unused room hosting the café contains a UGPS station and has a unique line of "talk" dialogue from Martlet.
    • The interior of the café is known in the code as rm_dunes_35b, further indicating that the isolated Café Dune room was the original version.
