Major Appearances

Alphys

Alphys's overworld sprite.

The True Lab, and by extension Alphys, is a major plot point in the Pacifist Route. Ceroba has a letter calling for the fallen down to be sent to the Lab in her nightstand. After Kanako fell down, Ceroba sent her to there. Ceroba plans to take Clover there to use their SOUL and finish Chujin's serum, though they never end up there.

Alphys is briefly shown in the mid-fight cutscene of the Zenith Martlet battle. Martlet's first assignment as a Royal Guard was guarding the Lab. Alphys leaves to put up cameras around the Underground, leaving Martlet alone to steal determination.

Asgore

Main article: Asgore

Asgore is mentioned many times in Undertale Yellow. Being the one who caused the deaths of the five humans, much of Clover's mission is to confront him. Clover meets him in two endings: Flawed Pacifist and Genocide. In the Flawed Pacifist Ending, Asgore easily takes Clover's SOUL, while in the Genocide Ending, Clover easily absorbs his.

Flowey

Main article: Flowey

Flowey is one of the main characters of Undertale Yellow. He controls their SAVE file, appears at nearly every SAVE point to talk to them, and guides them to Asgore. His goal is to get Clover to fight Asgore so he can steal the human SOULs and become powerful, but despite hundreds of resets, he has never succeeded.

Froggit

Main article: Froggit

One Froggit is a scripted encounter in the Ruins. The small Froggit from the room with three frogs in Undertale returns as Micro Froggit, another kind of Froggit found all across the Underground.

Toriel

Main article: Toriel

Toriel approaches Clover at the very start of the game and leads them through the Ruins, the same as in Undertale, until they are separated when Clover enters the Dark Ruins.

The flashbacks during Flowey's battle reveal Clover always moved in with Toriel in the timelines where he did not interfere. She briefly appears in the credits of the True Pacifist Ending.

Watching Man

Main article: Kanako Ketsukane

The spoon-shaped amalgamate that tucks Frisk into bed in the True Lab, sprite name spr_watchingman, was confirmed to be the amalgamate Kanako Ketsukane is a part of.

Minor Appearances

Annoying Dog

The Annoying Dog has a chance of appearing in the Factory during a rare Fun Value event. He sometimes also pops out of Bowll's back during battle. Various dog faces found around the game have the Annoying Dog's face.

Gerson

Gerson has a chance of appearing in the Dunes West Mines during a rare Fun Value event.

Heats Flamesman

Heats Flamesman makes an appearance as an NPC in Hotland. He is also named on the "Winners of the 'Actually Magma Smoothie Challenge'" ranking sheet.

Napstablook

Napstablook's overworld sprite.

In the flashback sequence at the beginning of the Flowey battle, Napstablook is seen resting in the spot they first appear in Undertale. Additionally, Clover can receive a spam letter from Blook Acres, written in Napstablook's characteristic manner of speaking.

Mentioned

Mettaton

Mettaton is listed as an upcoming act on the Wild East news board and the UG Apartments act schedule. On the Pacifist Route, Ceroba briefly complains about Mettaton and Alphys after reading Chujin's employee review in the Factory.

Undyne

Both Moray and Ceroba briefly mention Undyne. Based on what they say, she is the Royal Guard of Waterfall at the time Clover enters the Underground. Undyne also appears off-screen while throwing spears at Clover in the flashbacks before Flowey's boss battle, when he shows the ways that Clover had died.

W. D. Gaster

W. D. Gaster is briefly referenced on an award plaque in the Steamworks. One of the awards in the room before meeting Axis is covered by depleted energy plants, covering up the title "Greatness in Chemistry." This suggests that Gaster formerly worked at the Chemistry Lab, which handled energy production.
