Flowey/In Battle
Flowey is the final boss of the Neutral Route. The battle takes place in his mind after he kills Martlet and absorbs Clover's SOUL for abandoning their mission to go home, thus taking away his chance to obtain the human SOULs. He plans to toy with Clover for fun until they give in, while Clover tries to resist.
Many of Flowey's attacks involve him grotesquely distorting his appearance and creating unsettling bullets. In his second phase, the battle reflects the Photoshop Flowey battle from Undertale, with the bullet box taking up the lower half of the screen, overlooked by Flowey. Part of this fight uses the yellow SOUL mode, allowing Clover to shoot and dash.
Attacks[edit | edit source]
Before the player's first turn, Flowey throws 5 friendliness pellets at Clover's SOUL, just as he does in the tutorial. The screen then glitches out for a moment before the real battle starts. This is the only time Flowey uses this attack.
Phase 1[edit | edit source]
Phase 1 is split up into 3 sections. Each part begins with using 3 random attacks from the following list.
- Rings of pellets move across the board, rotating and pulsing.
- Flowey's face morphs into a single mouth, spewing arcs of pellets from above the board with one gap Clover must go through.
- Cartoony clones of Flowey, depicted in the rubber hose animation style, pop up from the edges of the board and shoot pellets in a pattern before being slashed to death, releasing a white SOUL that Clover's SOUL will swap places with. After they swap, Clover's old SOUL becomes a bullet as well.
- White SOULs move onto the bullet board, shattering into six pieces each.
- A hand picks off two of Flowey's petals, which both release a stream of pellets that target Clover's SOUL.
- Thin lines with spinning thorns appear on the left and right side of the board.
- Rings of bullets surround Clover before homing in on them.
- Flowey's head morphs into a humanoid shape and moves from the left and right of the board, spewing pellets and spikeballs in alternating arcs.
- A Flowey face appears above the board, dropping tears on the bullet board. The tears initially bounce on the bottom and split into two smaller tears, then those tears bounce and split into three smaller tears, and those three tears disappear at the bottom.
After he uses his 3 attacks, depending on the section, Flowey morphs into a distorted version of a killed boss and uses a faster version of one of their moves. If the respective boss was spared or never fought, their attack is skipped. The bosses used are:
- Section 1: Decibat's blue and orange waves attack is used, although with a wider board and with faster sound waves.
- Section 1: Dalv's vertical/horizontal lighting attack is used, but the lightning bolts are significantly faster.
- Section 2: El Bailador's attack is styled like his Genocide Route battle, where the SOUL can move freely in the board, with the notes falling from the top of the board and bouncing off when they hit the bottom.
- Section 2: Starlo's shooting dynamite attack is used, with the dynamite coming and exploding significantly faster.
- Section 2: Guardener's attack is the one where a harmless white flower spawns at the bottom of the board, followed by three pistons quickly striking in the top of the board in a downwards succession.
- Section 3: Axis's attack is one of his attacks from the Neutral/Pacifist Route fight where the SOUL is equipped with a trash can lid. Clover is put in the center of the board and must block energy balls homing into the center it, with the orbs coming in faster.
- Section 3: Ceroba's attack is one from her Genocide Route fight, where a ring of petals home on Clover's SOUL and explode, releasing a blue or orange shock wave. The order of the waves is consistent every time: orange, blue, blue, orange, blue, orange.
After the distorted bosses attacks, (or after the initial three attacks, if none of the current section's bosses were killed,) the next attack uses the entire screen as a bullet board. A distorted grinning face is in the background and a swarm of white hands rises from the bottom. Moving into these white hands rapidly drains Clover's HP with greatly reduced invincibility. The bullets in this attack depend on the section.
- Section 1: Several eyeballs appear and shoot an arc of bullets at Clover before disappearing. A spinning spiral of spikeballs falls, and three Flowey heads pop up from the bottom of the screen– two from either side and then one from the center– and explode into a ring of bullets.
- Section 2: Flowey heads rapidly spin and move in lines across the screen. Several of the exploding Flowey heads are tossed in from the sides. Multiple cartoon Floweys from an earlier attack appear at the edges and shoot a spray of bullets before disappearing.
- Section 3: Many Flowey heads drop from the top and explode in the rings. A spinning spiral falls down, eyeballs shoot at Clover, and then another spiral falls down.
When this attack is over, Clover is transported to a long maze resembling a random overworld area from either Undertale Yellow or the original Undertale. The areas that can be chosen are the Ruins, the Dark Ruins, Waterfall, the Dunes, the Steamworks, and Hotland. Their overworld sprite is colored pure yellow. To make the fight progress, they need to reach a SAVE point at the end of the area while dodging vines that randomly protrude around them. When they interact with the SAVE point, they enter the next section of the fight.
Unused Attacks[edit | edit source]
Flowey has two unused attacks for Phase 1 left in the code.
- The screen darkens and a live studio audience of ambiguous humanoids surrounds the bullet board. If the sign above it says "HATE", they will start throwing flowers. If the sign says "Joy", they will start throwing plushies of the main characters.
- A shoebox is emptied onto the bottom of the screen. The shoes come in pairs of two and at various different sizes.
Phase 2[edit | edit source]
Much like Photoshop Flowey's fight in the original Undertale, Flowey's turn takes up the entire phase. The whole lower half of the screen is the battle box. Flowey alternates through various combinations of the below gray attacks.
- Three guns appear on the screen in sequence, each shooting one bullet at Clover.
- Two cowboys run across the screen on horses with flower heads. One gets shot and explodes into a ring of pellets.
- Four spikes made out of corpses arise from the bottom of the screen.
- A quadruplet of venus flytraps appear and spew fireballs.
- A semi-realistically textured bomb explodes and shoots out a beam in a cross or X pattern.
- Waving hands move across the top and bottom of the screen while shooting pellets.
- A rapidly shifting face surrounded by circling spiked balls glides on-screen and constantly follows Clover, circling around them upon arrival. It glides back off-screen after a few seconds pass.
After 25 seconds, the attacks disappear and Flowey grabs Clover's SOUL and forces it to shoot. Clover can shoot one of six rotating petals on Flowey's head to destroy it and select a specific petal phase. Each time Clover enters a petal phase, they can use their SOUL's ability and must shoot down Flowey's weak points, which are indicated by them being red. After completing this petal phase, Clover is healed 60 HP and returns to the gray attacks for another 25 seconds before selecting another.
After all petals are destroyed, and after waiting for enough time, Flowey starts using easier moves. Clover is surrounded by a circle of bullets, which home in on them after a few moments. Three individual bullets are then thrown quickly, followed by two thrown at a medium pace, finally followed by one moving at a slow pace. This marks the end of the battle.
Patchworked[edit | edit source]
Clover must shoot two bouncing flowers to either side of Flowey.
- Two hands remain in place the whole phase and repeatedly drop buttons vertically.
- A hand making a finger-gun gesture appears on either side of the screen and charges up, then fires a barrage of rusty nails horizontally and diagonally from its fingertips.
Organic[edit | edit source]
Clover must shoot a large red blood cell attached to the heart Flowey. Once it breaks, they must shoot the heart itself.
- Red blood cells float around the screen. They can be destroyed by in one shot.
- A purple virus occasionally dashes towards Clover's current position.
Clay[edit | edit source]
Two vines to either side of Flowey form clay thorns. Clover must shoot the red thorn that forms. The thorns occasionally change place.
- A mold of clay slowly appears underneath Flowey's head, pulling in smaller clay pieces to increase its size. After nine seconds pass, the larger mass of clay morphs into an eyeball, firing either a blue beam from the left or an orange beam from the right, sweeping it either clockwise or counterclockwise respectively. The eyeball continues attacking for the remainder of the phase.
- Eyeballs fall from the top of the screen, bouncing across the bottom.
- Clay falls vertically from the top of the screen.
Paper[edit | edit source]
Paper petals travel from the edge to the top of the screen. Clover must destroy one red petal on each side to progress.
- Crumpled-up wads of paper are thrown across the screen.
- Paper airplanes glide across the screen.
Polygonal[edit | edit source]
Flowey's bottom two petals are red and must be destroyed. Afterwards, his whole body turns red and must be shot.
- An arrangement of three blue spikes horizontally move across the screen.
- A gigantic blue spike moves diagonally across the screen from one of the upper corners.
- An arrangement of three or five red spikes vertically move down the screen from the top. These burst into six friendliness pellets when attacked.
- A Flowey-headed stickbug slowly crawls down the screen, attacking Clover if they're too close. These stickbugs can be defeated if they're shot at eight times.
Mechanical[edit | edit source]
Two fist drones hover to either side of Flowey. Both must be destroyed.
- Flowey fires a barrage of bullets from his face.
- The drones next to Flowey shoot eight bullets in a formation. If one was destroyed, it does not fire.
- After a warning, sawblades appear and move from one of the sides of the screen. If they arise from the bottom, they fall back down before reaching Flowey.
Strategy[edit | edit source]
Phase 1[edit | edit source]
Flowey continuously reloads his SAVE to prevent Clover from FIGHTing, using ITEMs, or using any negatively titled ACTs. In order to make the fight progress past this phase, Clover needs to clear Flowey's maze three times. Each time one of the mazes are cleared, Clover is given a checkpoint they can restart from, when they die in the fight. This checkpoint does not get remembered when closing the game, and doing so ultimately restarts the entire phase. Once the third maze is cleared, Clover is placed inside a hallway which they must run through. As Clover moves down this hallway, its environment constantly changes before eventually fading out, ending this phase.
During the fight, the player's max HP is set to 100 and all of Flowey's attacks deal 12 damage, regardless of LV or DF. The Silver Scarf's healing still functions, and is the only armor to provide an effect during the battle. Clover can heal 30 HP by instead using the Endure, Hope, or Persist ACTs, each of which has a chance to appear in the ACT menu each turn. There is a 20% chance for any individual one to appear; some turns, none may appear. Overall, there is a 48.8% chance that a healing ACT will appear on a turn.
The attack that takes up the whole screen in section 1 can be mostly dodged by standing still.
Intermission[edit | edit source]
Clover runs from Flowey in the hallway until Flowey's voice fades out. They stop upon seeing a withered flower call for help. Past this point, there is a massive pile of withered flowers representing Flowey's countless deaths. Individual withered flowers are along the path Clover walks down. The flowers speak and Clover hears him initially waking up in Asgore Dreemurr's garden and transitioning into him slowly losing his mind when nothing he tries satisfies him, eventually desperately hoping that his plan with Clover will give him what he wants. The path terminates in a single flower that sucks Clover in and shatters the screen.
Clover, with their normal overworld sprite, appears in an area resembling Snowdin. They cannot run and can only walk down the path. In the middle of the path is Martlet, who hugs them and talks about wanting to bring Clover back to her house. She does not have a talksprite, and there is a frame in her hug animation where she has no eyes or mouth. Partway through talking, she repeats herself, her face melts and is replaced by a gray eyeball, and her whole body slowly melts. Clover regains their ability to run and must continue past her to a river with a replica of Ava. They must ride Ava away from land. The river turns into a black void, Ava disappears, Clover turns yellow, and Meta Flowey appears above them. He monologues shortly before Clover's form changes to their SOUL once more and phase 2 begins.
Phase 2[edit | edit source]
To complete this phase, Clover must pass each of the six petal phases. Every two petal phases, Clover is given a checkpoint they restart from if they die. Unlike phase 1, this checkpoint is remembered when closing the game, much like the SOUL sections of the Photoshop Flowey fight in Undertale. Once all the petal phases are cleared, Clover then has to survive for an extended period of time as the attacks eventually slow down to a halt, concluding the battle.
After the first petal phase, Clover unlocks the ability to dash throughout the whole battle, not just in the petal phases. This makes the spikes in the gray portion of the battle much easier to dodge. In the patchworked petal phase, the hands themselves that fire rusty nails do not actually deal damage. In the polygonal petal phase, while there are vine graphics to the sides, they do not actually deal damage.

Rooftop (Neutral)[edit | edit source]
- [If LV is below 3]
- [Martlet] Ah, you got my message! Great!
- [Martlet] What a view...
- [Martlet] That large facility in front of us is the CORE...
- [Martlet] ...The main source of power for the Underground.
- [Martlet] Behind that is New Home. The capital city.
- [Martlet] ...King ASGORE's Castle.
- [Martlet] Look, I haven't been 100% honest with you...
- [Martlet] My whole life, I was taught that humans are the enemy.
- [Martlet] But you... you never really came across as such.
- [Martlet] Though...
- [Martlet] During our journey, I did sense a faint, alarming aura in you.
- [Martlet] I had this backup plan in case you started a rampage but...

- [Martlet] I'm so sorry for keeping that from you. You're a good kid.
- [Martlet] Even so, there's another problem...
- [Martlet] I don't think ASGORE would agree.
- [Martlet] You see, he needs seven human SOULs to destroy the barrier.
- [Martlet] So far he's collected five and he might try for another...
- [Martlet] Now that we're this close...
- [Martlet] I'm afraid there isn't a peaceful way of confronting him.
- [Martlet] I'm sorry.
- [Martlet] ...

- And after all we've been through...
- [If the game was never SAVEd]
- Our friendship was always one sided, wasn't it?
- After all, you never bothered to save even ONCE!
- Still...
- I tried for so long.
- I tried to uphold a friendly persona but wow...
- You really brought me to my limit!
- Though, I gotta say, it did feel good to finally SNAP, ya know?
- She never saw it coming!
- Best of all, she thought YOU betrayed her in the end!
- What an IDIOT!
- I bet she even-
- Nuh-uh-uh!
- Trigger-happy are we?
- I think you forgot who's in charge here.
- We had a nice run, didn't we?
- Too bad I won't miss it.
Rooftop (Aborted Genocide at Steamworks)[edit | edit source]
- [Martlet] So you found me...
- [Martlet] ...
- [Martlet] My whole life...
- [Martlet] My whole life I was taught that humans are the enemy.
- [Martlet] And... it looks like they were right.
- [Martlet] But even with that prejudice drilled into my mind...
- [Martlet] I think I... I sense better in you.
- [Martlet] I had this plan to stop your rampage but...
- [Martlet] ...I'm not sure if I should...
- [Martlet] ...
- [Martlet] I just... can't do it.
- [Martlet] Gosh, I must be crazy!
- [Martlet] ...
- [Martlet] If you're going to shoot me, do it now.
- [Martlet] You'll never get past ASGORE.
- [Martlet] He's our only guiding light and not one to be snuffed out.
- [Martlet] So go ahead... Mark your tally.
- [Martlet] ...
- [Martlet] ...
- [Martlet] You're... not attacking me...?
- [Martlet] Okay...
- [Martlet] ...
- [Martlet] I'm not certain this is the right decision but...

- [Martlet] You can come stay with me. Live out a happy, violence-free childhood.

- [Martlet] I think... I hope... you can change for the better.
- [Martlet] ...
- [Martlet] ...What do you say?
- [Martlet] I understand if you're hesitant but please... trust me... [...]
- [Martlet] Thank you, Clover. [...Okay]
- [Martlet] This is the best outcome for everyone.
- [Martlet] ...
- [Martlet] Well... let's go to Snowdin.
- [Martlet] W-What is this?
- [Martlet] Clover...?
- [Martlet] I should've k-known...
- Oops! Got to her first!
- Though I must say...
- The whole false sense of security bit? Very clever.
- ...
- No way...
- Don't tell me you were ACTUALLY trying to turn this around.
- After what you did to all those poor monsters?
- Hahahaha!!!
- That's just too funny!
- I don't care how mind-numbingly sympathetic she was...
- There is no ticket to redemption for your actions.
- ...Oh, right!
- Surprise! I betrayed you!
- Real sorry, but hey, thanks for abandoning your rampage!
- You were gettin' pretty strong for a second there.
- I'm not usually the worrying type but whew!
- Dodged a bullet! Haha!
- Whoa! Make that two!
- [Continues the same as Neutral Route]
Pre-Battle (Flowey)[edit | edit source]
- MMMmm I shoulda done this earlier, huh!
- Oh?
- You're still holding on? So stubborn!
- Lighten up a little, pal!
- You do know this didn't have to happen, right?
- We had a plan. A simple one.
- Go. To. ASGORE.
- But I guess you're too stupid to follow directions.
- Don't know why I thought this would end any differently...
- [Fight 1]
- You've always been predictable.
- Oh? What do I mean? Well, buddy, let me show you!
- You see, I've been watching you for a while.
- Gosh, what run is it? Gotta be in the hundreds.
- I've almost lost count! Haha...
- [Toriel] Ah! Hello!
- [Toriel] Are you all right?
- [Toriel] You must be wondering what is going on...
- [Toriel] I am TORIEL, caretaker of the RUINS.
- I let you carry on your merry way so many times.
- [Lever Puzzle]
- [Toriel] Go on, press the switch on the left. [Interacting with Toriel #1]
- [Interacting with Toriel #2+]
- [Toriel] You do know which way left is, do you not?
- [Toriel] Press the switch that I labelled for you.
- [Interacting with incorrect switch]
- [Toriel] Oh no, my child! That is the wrong switch.
- [Toriel] I have labelled the one you need to flip.
- Please press this switch too. -Toriel [Switch sign, unused]
- [Puzzle complete, unused]
- [Toriel] Splendid!
- [Toriel] I am proud of you, little one.
- [Toriel] Go ahead and push the rock! [Interacting with Toriel, rock puzzle]
- [Toriel] You are learning so much, my child! [Puzzle complete]
- I watched the same childish behavior play out over...
- And over...
- And over.
- Sure, small decisions here and there would vary but...
- The journey would always end with you ignorantly living with Toriel.
- I had to interfere.
- At first, my efforts seemed to work.
- Tensions rose and you left the Ruins.
- But then, other issues crept up...
- No matter how many times you journeyed on...
- You always died.
- I had to steer you off the path of failure as early as possible.
- So I tampered with a little switch and...
- Well, the rest is history!
- ...
- Oh come on! You're still here?
- I thought at least my story might bore you so much that you'd give in!
- You really wanna do this the hard way?
- Haha, alright then!
- Let's have a little fun before I absorb your SOUL for good!
- [Fight 2+]
- You've always been predictable, heh.
- But enough about YOU.
- I wanna have a little fun before I absorb your SOUL for good!
- Now, remember what I taught you!
- Dodge the bullets!
Intermission[edit | edit source]
- Clover?
- Where did you go, buddy?
- Get b a c k h e r e
- h-hello?
- where am i?
- mom? dad?
- anybody!
- help me...

Snowdin[edit | edit source]
- [Martlet] ...Clover?
- [Martlet] Clover!!! It is you!
- [Martlet] I can't believe it!
- [Martlet] Come here!
- [Martlet] I was so scared!
- [Martlet] This place...
- [Martlet] It's Snowdin right? Sure looks like it.
- [Martlet] I haven't the slightest clue what's going on here.
- [Martlet] The last thing I remember was us talking on that rooftop...
- [Martlet] Oh yeah! We were going to my house!
- [Martlet] I don't quite know where it is from here but we'll search together!
- [Martlet] I'm so happy I found you!
- [Martlet] So happy I found you.
- [Martlet] I found you.
- [Martlet] I F O U N D Y O U .
Pre-Battle (Meta Flowey)[edit | edit source]
- H O W D Y .
- Have fun with your friend back there?
- Hahahahaha!!!
- Thought you slipped away for a second didn't ya?
- You are quite a vigilant one...
- Bet you could've outlasted ASGORE if you bothered to reach him.
- Even though your choices in this timeline are useless to me now...
- I didn't outright HATE our time together. Not all of it.
- Two lost souls deciding who lives or dies...
- Most of the time you were insufferable but when you gave in...
- ...Gave in to your true violent urges. That was the best part.
- That's when I knew you had it in you to fight the King.
- But that was so long ago, haha. Just look at you now!
- Barely recognizable!
- You know, some say yellow is the color of justice.
- Close, but that's not the word I would choose...
- Yellow is the color of judgment.
- Consequence...
- You would know, wouldn't you?
- ...
- Ahhh, you're right.
- Who cares about all that?
- Life's all about the thrill! How fun your experiences are!
- Our time here has been way better than any interaction out there!
- And I'm not looking for it to end any time soon!
- Of course, it can't last forever.
- After I overtake your SOUL, I'll kill ASGORE.
- I'll absorb all those poor children you couldn't save!
- Then and only then, I will become GOD.
- But for now... this is only the beginning.
- So please, resist.
- Let's entertain each other a while longer.
- After all, in this world...
- IT'S KILL OR BE KILLED

I thought this would be fun, and I suppose it was... ...For a moment. But I'm over it now. ... I don't think either of us feel like fighting for all eternity so... I'll cut you a deal. I'm going to reset. Back to when you first arrived. Of course, you probably won't remember this. We can be "pals" all over again. Reunited. If we end up in the same spot, I may try this again. But... If you can remember anything from right now... Try to make different decisions next time. There's a better timeline out there for both of us. Not that I care about you, this outcome just sucks. It was all in my mind! No one could see it, it wasn't threatening lives... Doesn't come close to what I'm TRULY aiming for. When I reach that goal, you'll be there to witness it. A spectacle like the world's never seen! So... When we meet again in that dingy room... You're gonna help me get what I want. Like it or not, I decide your fate now. Haha! If only I could see your reaction to all this! Oh, who am I kidding? Your face would only look like it always did! Hahahahaha!!! Alright, alright, I'll let you go. I do need a little time to practice my intro monologue, though. Feel free to pace yourself before the big fall! See ya later, Clover! |
Here we are again.
Wasn't as terrifying or flashy as it was the first time, huh? Cut me some slack! My imagination is only so vast! Forget it. I might as well be talking to a wall. You don't retain your memory after resets. That's why I have to explain the same things every time. Place the same savepoints, make the same comments... "Golly, this place sure is ____!" "Keep up the good work, buddy!" "Remember your mission!" Over and over and over and over... But I notice things each run. You solve puzzles faster. You defeat monsters faster. You navigate the Underground like you have a map. All that, yet I know your memory is wiped clean. I can't explain it... ... Maybe at some point it will all culminate. You will finally lead me to what I need. Until then, I'll reset. And reset and reset and reset and reset and reset and reset and reset and |
Why do we keep ending up here?
Every time you make certain choices, it's the rooftop. Martlet always convinces you to go with her. Am I supposed to just... let that happen? No... I've seen you surrender and adapt before. It doesn't lead anywhere. So, what? Is this it? Is this the way it has to be? When I first steered you into the Dark Ruins... I could've sworn I was onto something. But it feels like your life - your fate - is locked in. As if there's a specific way it MUST play out. If that's true... what does that fate lead to? Ultimately? ...Maybe you're not the one I need? Maybe you're only a stepping stone? A... precursor. "They come. They leave. They die." That's what she always said. ... There will be another. And this "helpful" act... It's not working. I need to embrace who I really am as soon as I'm rid of you. For now, however, I have to keep it up. I know what it's like to be at rock bottom without hope. This... while incredibly frustrating... This act has gotten me the closest I've ever been to my goal. It's the first time I've felt like I've made true progress. Sure I could try rigging a new puzzle... Drag you into another alternate path... But even I don't have the patience for that. I know deep down that my plan WILL work out. What I don't know is whether that plan involves you in the end. ...Alive, that is. But I've blabbered on enough. It's time for me to fake a smile through another excruciating journey. Don't mess it up again. |
Heh.
Talk about a "dead end." ... That's not funny. None of this is. I shouldn't be here. Not again. I mean, come on... Don't I have anything better to do? |
...
You know? It's strange. Something's off here. We're alone in my mind right now. It's clear that we're alone, right? Then why I can't shake it... In moments like this where all is quiet... that's when I feel it. Only since you showed up has it been this way. ... I have to reset again. I have to reset until I find the right path. Until you make the right choices. Until it... |

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- There are 80 possible groupings of previously killed bosses that can show up during Phase 1 (also counting where no bosses show up), with 16 being exclusive to aborting the Genocide Route after killing Ceroba.
- Starlo and Guardener will never appear along with Ceroba due to both Starlo and Guardener not able to be battled during a Genocide Route.
- Despite Starlo being fatally shot in the duel against Clover during a Genocide Route, he does not appear when killed this way because it does not count as a battle taking place.
- The greatest amount of bosses that can appear at once is six, these being Decibat, Dalv, El Bailador, Starlo, Guardener, and Axis.
- While the order of the other killed bosses appearing corresponds to the order they were fought throughout the run, Ceroba will always appear as the last boss in Phase 1 despite being fought in the Wild East and thus before the Axis battle.
- Flowey only has one kind of attack for each of the killed bosses. In El Bailador’s and Axis’s case, regardless if they were killed on a Neutral Route or an Aborted Genocide Route, Flowey always uses one of the Genocide Route version of El Bailador’s attack while he uses one of the Neutral Route version of Axis’s attack.
- There is a bug where El Bailador does not appear if he was killed on an Aborted Genocide Route but then exhaust the Dunes kill counter and re-enter the room where was was fought in afterwards. This causes the game to mark his battle as skipped, even if he was previously killed.
- Strangely, Guardener does not appear if she was killed in an Aborted Pacifist Route where Ceroba was present in the Steamworks. She only appears if she was killed in a Neutral Route where Ceroba was not with Clover. This is likely a bug.
- Starlo and Guardener will never appear along with Ceroba due to both Starlo and Guardener not able to be battled during a Genocide Route.
- The name "Meta Flowey" comes from the names of two variables related to Flowey in the code,
global.meta_flowey_introduction_
andcount global.meta_flowey_fight_count
.- Something worth noting is that the former is actually not related to the Meta Flowey fight at all. It is a "meta" variable representing how many times Flowey has gone through his introduction in the Dark Ruins.
- Upon starting the fight, Clover's HP and Defense stats are overridden. Regardless of LV, their stats are set to 100 HP and 0 Defense. Due to how defense works, this actually functions as -10 defense.
- In phase 1 of his battle, using Check gives the line "Your best friend!" without showing his stats. This format is only used in Flowey's fight and phases 2-4 of Ceroba's Pacifist Route fight.
- In the first of Flowey's flavor texts listed, he replaces certain letters with numbers. When translated from leetspeak, it says "reset try again" repeatedly.
