Daisy
Daisy (also called "Robuild" in the files[1]) is a construction that Clover creates to appease Axis on a Pacifist Route. After showing them to Axis, he decides to marry them.
Profile[edit | edit source]
Personality[edit | edit source]
While Axis seems to consider Daisy alive and responds to what they say, Daisy never speaks and does not have programming like other robots. Daisy is exclusively referred to with gender neutral terms in-game.[2][3]
Etymology[edit | edit source]
Axis says Daisy is named after the flower.[2] Their name may also be a reference to Daisy Bell, a romantic song used for the first ever recording of computer-generated speech.
Main Story[edit | edit source]
Pacifist Route[edit | edit source]
After Axis detains Ceroba and Clover, Ceroba suggests that Clover build a companion for him to distract him later. After Daisy is completed, Ceroba holds onto them and Clover and Ceroba exit detainment. Later, when cornered at the end of the Axis chase sequence, Ceroba tries to present Daisy to Axis to charm him. He rejects Ceroba's attempt and tries to attack Clover and Ceroba, but Ceroba casts a shield over Daisy that reflects his attack and incapacitates him.
At the end of Axis's battle, he is spared by Clover telling Ceroba to bring out Daisy after Axis calms down. This time, Axis is besotted with them and decides to get married to them. If Clover backtracks to his charging locker, they can find him next to Daisy. Daisy cannot be interacted with, but Axis tells Clover a bit about Daisy, including their name.[2] In the credits of the True Pacifist Ending, Axis and Daisy are shown riding a gondola driven by Sousborg.
Creation[edit | edit source]
To create Daisy, Clover can carry four of the various items in detainment over to Ceroba to pick what to build with. These four items selected in the overworld determine what Daisy's overworld sprite will look like. Each item has an internal point value that contributes to one or multiple of the sprites. The overworld sprite with the most points is the one picked. The items Clover can select from are:
- A bow, adds a point to sprite 3 and 7
- A clock, adds a point to sprites 3 and 4
- Googly eyes, adds a point to sprites 5 and 7
- A speaker, adds a point to sprites 5 and 6
- A suction cup, adds a point to sprite 2
- A trashcan, adds a point to sprites 3 and 4
- A TV, adds two points to sprite 1
- A wheel, adds a point to sprites 1, 5, and 6
- A windup machine, adds a point to sprites 1 and 2
Because of how points are distributed, only sprites 1, 2, 3, and 5 are obtainable in-game. Sprites 4, 6, and 7 will never be used.
After all four have been picked, Clover enters a minigame to make Daisy's in-battle appearance. The player can use Confirm (usually Z) to pick and place items. Pressing Menu (usually C) when an item is held discards it. Holding Cancel (usually X) and moving will alter an object: holding left or right tilts the object, holding up or down changes its size. Clover can pick multiple of the same item, Ceroba prevents them from proceeding with no items placed, and a maximum of 12 items can be placed.
